Viajantes - Megan McCormick

Mais uma grande viajante do Travel Channel, Megan McCormick. Gosto muito da simpatia que irradia enquanto viaja e conhece pessoas. Mantém observações frescas e um pouco ingénuas. É uma das apresentadoras do programa “Global Trekker” e mantém-se no activo ainda a viajar por todo o mundo. E já esteve em Portugal.

Nasceu em 1973 e cresceu na Florida, EUA, tendo tirado o curso de Filosofia e ciência política na Universidade de Boston.

Antes de se juntar à equipa do programa, trabalhou como professora de inglês no Japão e nos bastidores de um programa da MSNBC “The News with Brian Williams”.

Como viajante solitária, visitou a Ásia e a Europa, por países como Japão, Tailândia, Vietname, China, Mongólia, Fraça e Bélgica, Inglaterra e Irlanda, Java e Sumatra, na Indónésia.

Soube do programa por um amigo que é actor e achou que seria um trabalho de sonho. Desde então viajou por muitos outros países.

"The strangest looking thing I have eaten was probably the fruit bat in Micronesia. It was pretty scary looking but well attired by the chef who had tied a little yellow bow around its neck. It tasted like chicken, of course!"

"On drinking "lemonade" made of ants and eggs: "I tell you the truth when I say, it ain't no Countytime Lemonade, but if it had had a little sugar, it would have been nice, actually!"

"I'd like to visit Bhutan because it is still so untouched and I imagine it to be a very beautiful inspiring place."

"I went to Inner Mongolia with my mother and friend and they have the fastest horses I have ever ridden! I was hanging on for dear life! We ate local food and slept under the stars. It was one of the best trips of my life."
